Why I do Intermittent Fasting

I can remember back in 2012 asking the the questions what's intermittent fasting? Having a natural bodybuilding background I was very skeptical of intermittent fasting in general.

I thought the people who did it were crazy and were starving themselves. I was someone who ate 5-6 meals a day every 3 hours. I honestly thought this who thing was a giant scam until I actually tried it for myself.

I Did intermittent fasting to help heal my leaky gut

I ended doing intermittent fasting due to health issues I was having. I was dealing with bad digestive issues and I had learned that fasting is great when it comes to healing leaky gut.

When you fast you give your digestive system a break and allow it to heal and repair itself. So that's what got me interested in Intermittent Fasting.

I honestly didn't care about the fat loss or any weight loss. I was just concerned with my health and my digestive system. I just wanted to feel better and fix any my digestive issues.

What's Intermittent fasting explained

Intermittent Fasting is simply the controlled voluntary abstinence of food. You only eat within a certain time window.

Typically you fast for 16 hours and then you eat during an 8-hour window. Eating 2-3 meals in that time frame.

It's important to realize Intermittent fasting is not a diet its a tool. It's a pattern of eating. It does not dictate what foods your actually eating only that you eat in a certain time frame.

intermittent fasting is great for the digestive system

Intermittent fasting is great since it gives your digestive system a break. It also allows your gut to heal.

And it helps controls your blood sugar levels which in return helps you lose weight and unwanted fat. Controlling your blood sugar levels is key to weight loss.

The number 1 reason I tried intermittent fasting was to help heal my leaky gut. By simply not overloading my digestive system with food, I was allowing my stomach to repair and heal itself.

Intermittent fasting boosts HGH

It also boosts HGH in men up to 2,000% and in women 1,300%.

Human Growth Hormone helps you build and maintain muscle, burn fat, enhances the immune system and is anti-aging.

So if you want to help your digestive system repair, control your blood sugar levels, lose weight, boost HGH, build and maintain muscle, burn fat, enhance your immunize system and look younger than Intermittent Fasting is 100% for you.

Unless you are pregnant then I would not do it.

How to start doing intermittent fasting

So start by doing 16 hours fast with an 8-hour eating window.

For example:

Only eat withing this window.
7 am - 3 pm
8 am - 4 pm
10 am - 6 pm
12 am -8 pm
2 pm - 10 pm

The time outside of this window is when you are fasting. I think its best to fast around your sleep. So before you go to bed and after you wake up is the easiest way to fast. But you need to make this work for your specific schedule.

Intermittent fasting is not meant to be done daily. It is meant to be done intermittently. So if you are just starting try it 2-3 times a week and you can progress as you get used to it and more experienced.

Also do not eat food during the fast or anything that will cause a metabolic response.

Water, coffee, tea is fine as long as you don't add cream and sugar. As those will cause an insulin response.

What you can do now

Intermittent fasting really works with my lifestyle. I don't think about food all the time. I don't have to make a ton of meals and prepare everything.

I have been doing it now since the beginning of 2017 and it has been so easy to follow. I want to encourage you to try intermittent fasting as well and see what you notice.

Comment below if you have any questions.
