Foods To Avoid With Leaky Gut

This post is all about foods to avoid with leaky gut.

One of the reasons we develop a leaky gut is due to the foods we eat. Some of these foods can feed candida yeast in the intestines and they can also destroy the gut lining. This can cause inflammation in our bodies resulting in various health issues.

4 Foods that cause leaky gut

Gluten

Gluten breaks down into a protein molecule called Gliadin. Gliadin breaks apart the tight junctions in your digestive tract. Allowing harmful substances in the bloodstream. This will cause inflammation in the body and if not taken care of can lead to Celiac disease. When people have celiac disease they are not able to eat gluten since it will cause pain and destruction to their digestive systems.

Grains

Grains like rice contains phytic acids. Phytic acids has a protective coating that's difficult for the body to break down and digest, causing inflammation. Brown rice is harder for the body to breakdown and digest since it contains both the bran, germ, and endosperm. Where white rice removed the bran and germ. So white rice contains less nutrition but it is easier for your body to break down. So it's less harsh on your digestive system.

Refined Sugar And Artificial Sweeteners

Sugar feeds yeast which allows it to overpopulate and outnumber the good bacteria in the digestive tract. Allowing candida yeast to take over break down your body.

This can lead to irritation in the gut, which could even manifest itself as an autoimmune response. Skin conditions and allergies could be an effect of that.

Artificial sweeteners can decrease good bacteria levels in the gut.And Some studies suggest that all artificial sweeteners can influence the microbiota which is your gut’s bacteria. The  loss of good bacteria could actually lead to a glucose intolerance and eventually lead to diabetes.

Refined Vegetable Oils (Sunflower, Safflower, Canola, Soybean)

Omega 6 EFA's cause inflammation and damage the intestinal lining. We should really limit these oils and especially not cook with them since they have a low smoke point. When we cook with oils that have a low smoke point it turns rancid fast and becomes toxic to our bodies cause tons of inflammation damage.

Even if we don't cook with these oils but oxygen is exposed is to it for a little bit of time then the oxidation process begins to happen and it turns rancid over time. Thus making it worse.

Start by minimizing these foods and if you are really serious try to eliminate them all together.

See how you feel by doing so.
